Strength & Conditioning


Provincial and national development.

I am currently the Head Strength & Conditioning Coach for the Basketball BC provincial boys’ development program. In this role, I oversee programming and periodization, warmup and cooldown, recovery, testing and evaluation, and injury management protocols for the U15-U17 provincial boys’ teams in preparation for the National Championships, as well as the Canada Summer Games.  I also assist year-round with player development through Canada Basketball’s Centre for Performance, POD programs, and Tall Player Project.

Collegiate programs.

I’ve had the pleasure of working at a wide variety of academic institutions. At the highest level, I spent time at the University of Washington, where I assisted in the operation of a championship-winning Division-1 NCAA strength and conditioning program. I also acted as the Interim Head Strength & Conditioning Coach at Simon Fraser University (NCAA D2) after serving as an assistant for over four years.  In the past, I have also held strength and conditioning positions at the University of British Columbia, Capilano University and Kwantlen Polytechnic University.

Professional experience.

I am currently an assistant strength & conditioning coach for the Hamilton Tiger-Cats of the Canadian Football League, and also previously worked with the BC Lions Football Club for three seasons.  In these position, I am responsible for in-season periodization of the speed, strength and conditioning program, and the oversight of the team’s developmental athletes. I work closely with athletic therapy staff to rehabilitate athletes from injury and reintegrate them into competitive play.  I am also responsible for administering interventions for injury prevention such as functional movement screening and fascial stretch therapy. Our efforts resulted in leading the CFL by a large margin with the fewest man-games lost to injury in the 2016 CFL season.

I offer private coaching, and I also perform team training and consultations. I also deliver educational seminars for events, workshops and conferences.
